It is always my birthday

Whenever I like something it is always my birthday.
And I like a lot. My friends know this and let me be. Great friends.

Sewing with my Grand Daughter

I had the chance to sew with my beautiful grand daughter Chloe for two days last week. She wanted to make a quilt after she finished her two frogs, and we got started on her center. Her theme is pink, blue  We are not quite finished, we will add a border of cream and a second border of pink.
We had so much fun sewing in the sewing room upstairs while her brothers played video games downstairs.
Chloe's second quilt top will be for her twin brother Mason, blue and green nd animals are his choices.

As you can see, blue and pink seem to be her colors.
Chloe made the pink frog is for other Grand Ma.

The frog pattern is from my friend Jeri's Mom.
We fill them with rice  and they are great warmed up the microwave for one minute to help with tight muscles.

Finished 3rd quilt with this fabric from Moda

This is the 3rd quilt with the fabric called Urban Curture from Basic Grey by Moda. I know have only a few pieces left, and they will make another lap quilt.
My quilt model/holder quit on me, so I am having to hold this quilt up.

The back has the leftovers form the first quilt sewn onto it, and some bigger pieces.

I did a soft meander in the border , and this design in the 20 blocks.
I opted not to do anything in the sashing, to keep the quilt soft and cuddly and because I didn't want to.

This is how it would look laying on a bed, I am happy with it.

Spring is a long way off, so I made a Spring quilt for a friends birthday

This has not been a very cold or a very long Winter, but my heart longs for Spring to come.
So for my friends birthday I made her a polka dot quilt, in lovely white on bright polka dots.
I actually hand embroidered the flowers in the center, and did a meander with flowers for the quilting.
This one was fun to make, and I hope my friend will use it.

Scrappy Quilt Number four

A few month ago I started making these little churn dash blocks in one color way with scrap fabrics.
The blocks are finished 51/2 inches.
Initially I wanted to set them on point with a solid cream square , but than I decided not to.

I still set them on point, but without a solid square.
I wanted to use up some my  scrap binding ( I make continuous bias binding and keep any left overs over 20 inches )
so instead of a cream solid  border next to the blocks I did scrap pieces of fabrics and than did a solid cream on cream as the last border so I can show off the colorful binding.

This is my favorite block. Can you guess why, lol!

I used a pantograph named  Splish-Splash to quilt the quilt  that Aby had used on some of her quilts. Thanks Aby for this tip,  I like that design.
I like how the center puffs up, and the design was fitting since it rained and rained while I was quilting and binding this quilt.
